What We Think We Know, So Far
And how it may assist in preserving trout populations in the upper Dolores River basin
Do drought conditions bring significantly higher water temperatures? The study area is a large, mountainous basin in southwest Colorado. Is trout habitat jeopardized? If so, is refuge available for thermal relief? Do tributaries have a role? What is current water quality? Do findings speak to how trout populations may survive despite more frequent and intense drought, as expected with climate change?
